Doses Down the Drain

Doses Down the Drain
Who knew there was so much money in the fear of needles? The Russian Life files.

While no one really loves getting vaccinations, it's probably a good idea to get them. They even have "light" options if you're watching your caloric intake (not really). But apparently, there's money to be had by faking it when people really, really don't like needles.

A Kaliningrad clinic employee is in custody and under investigation after it was discovered that she was selling completed, certified COVID vaccination cards to locals who wanted to avoid the actual thing. She is charged with forging twenty sets of documents, which all purported that paid customers of hers were fully vaccinated.

Her defense was that she was simply "providing an unofficial service" by "vaccinating without injections," pouring the vaccines down the sink, presumably to boost the immunity of the sewer alligators. It just so happens that this selfless public service for the reptiles also conveniently destroyed evidence of her crime.

If only her patrons knew what doctors recommend for post-vaccination activities.

The Right Dosage

“Sex after administration of the vaccine does not cause any side effects in people of any age. As a matter of fact, sexual activity provides a lot of satisfaction and pleasure. People’s fears go away, as sex 'turns off' the head and relieves stress.” – Sexologist sexologist Andrei Lygachin, refuting the idea that individuals should avoid sex after being vaccinated against COVID-19.

Stargorod: A Novel in Many Voices

Stargorod is a mid-sized provincial city that exists only in Russian metaphorical space. It has its roots in Gogol, and Ilf and Petrov, and is a place far from Moscow, but close to Russian hearts. It is a place of mystery and normality, of provincial innocence and Black Earth wisdom. Strange, inexplicable things happen in Stargorod. So do good things. And bad things. A lot like life everywhere, one might say. Only with a heavy dose of vodka, longing and mystery.
