Musk vs. Putin

On March 14th, CEO of Tesla Elon Musk shocked the Twitter world with a challenge to Vladimir Putin. His post made a statement to challenge Vladimir Putin one on one, with Ukraine as the stakes. The tweet has already received over 330 thousand likes and 50 thousand retweets.

While the majority are not taking this challenge seriously, many people have taken into account Musk's and Putin's physical skills. Elon Musk has reportedly stated that he does not enjoy exercising, and only has little experience in combat sports. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin holds (or held) a 9th degree black belt in taekwondo, exercises daily, and has hand-to-hand military combat experience.

Many people did not find the comedy in this tweet and made strong responses to Musk. Nicu Calcae responded to the tweet, "How can I make this humanitarian crisis about myself, Thought the dipshit." Danny Gold stated, "If you're going to make jokes about an ongoing brutal war they have to be funny. If they're not funny and you're the richest man on the planet you should then donate $100 million to Ukrainian refugee relief efforts." The last example from Daniel Drezner shows a great amount of sarcasm: "Well, this ought to do the trick. Problem solved, everyone."

Now with strong claims against Vladimir Putin, much of the Twitter world is waiting for Musk's next move, whether it be more not-so-funny tweets or relief efforts for Ukraine.
