Want to Buy a Boulevard?

Want to Buy a Boulevard?
That green strip could all be yours, for the right price. Avito/Izvestia.

Russian news reports that a strip of green space in the St. Petersburg suburb of Murino is for sale for R99 million ($1.05 million).

The boulevard, which bisects blocks of apartment buildings, has been designated as public green park space. However, according to the listing, the new owner is permitted to change the area to shops, playgrounds, or other commercial space.

News reports highlight that locals are concerned that the area could be developed and that they would therefore lose their green space.

The land area totals 8,000 square meters, or nearly two acres. The listing was created by "Semko Development," and appears to be legitimate.

Not that it's a great time to invest in Russian real estate.
