Married celebrity couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are best known for their acting, modeling, and film production. Now, much of the world knows them for their generosity, after they raised over $35 million in aid for Ukraine

Kutcher and Kunis created a GoFundMe fundraiser on March 3, 2022, aiming to raise $30 million in aid, and provide $3 million themselves. On the Go Fund Me page, you can see updates from the couple, including video and written messages.

Mila Kunis, full name Milena Markovna Kunis (Мілена Марківна Куніс), has strong connections to Ukraine. She was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983, and came to the United States with her family in 1991.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally reached out to Kunis and Kutcher to thank them for their effort and generosity for Ukraine, hosting a video call on March 20. He then tweeted a picture of the video, with kind words to the couple for their work.

The generous amount of money raised for Ukraine is being sent to AirBnB and Flexport to aid refugees. If you would like to contribute to the GoFundMe, you can access it here

Faith & Humor: Notes from Muscovy

A book that dares to explore the humanity of priests and pilgrims, saints and sinners, Faith & Humor has been both a runaway bestseller in Russia and the focus of heated controversy – as often happens when a thoughtful writer takes on sacred cows. Vladimir Gilyarovsky's classic portrait of the Russian capital is one of Russians’ most beloved books. Yet it has never before been translated into English. Until now! It is a spectactular verbal pastiche: conversation, from gutter gibberish to the drawing room; oratory, from illiterates to aristocrats; prose, from boilerplate to Tolstoy; poetry, from earthy humor to Pushkin.
