Pendant Protection

Disease stands no chance against this pendant! Image from Dr. Vorobev via Instagram

A jewelry maker in Kostroma has made a unique creation: a pendant in the form of a coronavirus. The company Dr. Vorobev, owned by Pavel Vorobyov, claims that the pendant will destroy all diseases in a person’s body and is going for 1,000 rubles (approximately $12).

In an Instagram post, Vorobyov is calling his creation “Virus with a Crown,” which in Russian is a play on the word “coronavirus” («Вирус с короной»). He added that he hopes the pendant can be a sort of talisman for medical and healthcare workers. It is made of pure silver, which Vorobyov claims “kills all germs (and vampires, as well).”

In response to critics saying the company is exploiting the current crisis, Vorobyov responded that they are a medical brand, and so it is logical for them to create this type of pendant. Vorobyov also stated that they started working on this project before the situation was declared a pandemic. He mentioned that the company is seeing a high amount of demand, including from other countries such as Ukraine and the US.
