The Breadwinner

The Breadwinner

“Any region [of the Russian Federation], a Russian citizen, a Russian person – these are our people. We have never split. Can we help with something in agriculture – please. We will give the last grain, super-elite [grain], so all is well.”

– A quotation from Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, posted to his website

On December 2, as Alexander Lukashenko met with Russian governor Igor Babushkin of Astrakhan, the Belarusian president offered aid to the Federation, affirming his will to both develop cooperation in a range of areas as well as reaffirming the friendship between the two countries.
