Domestic Disputes of a Different Kind

Russia's state insurance agency, along with Otkritie (Openings) Bank, recently published a study that found that 56 percent of Russians who live in apartments have had conflicts with their landlords.

The study reported that 63 percent of Russians have rented an apartment at some point in their lives, and more than half have had a dispute with the property owner.

Many of the disputes, it seems, have been due to restrictions placed on the renter by landlords. One-third of conflicts stem from landlords banning pets; 26 percent from long-term tenants who are not the primary renter; and 23 percent from interior renovations.

However, the study also found that 15 percent of landlords only communicate with tenants remotely, so... Those lucky tenants can get away with plenty.
