A woman in Arkhangelsk was held hostage for two days in her own kitchen by her own cat, reported the city’s press service.

On January 19, a passerby heard a woman on the third floor of an apartment building calling for help. She said her cat had gone berserk and wouldn’t let her leave the kitchen, attacking her every time she tried to leave. Rescuers arrived and entered the apartment through a window.

The cat was caught with the help of a blanket, put in a carrier, and later given back to the woman.
