Can you give us a short description of your city? Kemerovo is the regional center of the miners' region in Western Siberia. Life flows here as it does in all mining towns during the decline of the coal industry. But there are many stories and many interesting people.

What is something about your area that only locals would know? Kuzbass is the most populous region of Siberia. This happened in connection with the settlement around the coal deposits in the period of their development. On the territory of the Kemerovo Region there is a dinosaur graveyard containing remains of dinosaurs from the Cretaceous period. Not far from the Kii River is the dormant and ancient volcano "Kondovye Buhtay," from the Devonian period.

Which places or sites are a must for someone to see if they visit your area? Mariinsk: the old town with its authentic old architecture. Mountain Taiga: Kul Lake on top, the river valley Mras-Su with caves, waterfalls "Marble Rocks", Khomutovskaya thresholds, "Spassky palaces," "King's Gate". Ski slopes of Gornaya Shoria and Salanga.

Anything else you would like to add? This is my home. Welcome.

Stargorod: A Novel in Many Voices

Stargorod is a mid-sized provincial city that exists only in Russian metaphorical space. It has its roots in Gogol, and Ilf and Petrov, and is a place far from Moscow, but close to Russian hearts. A lot like life everywhere, one might say. Only with a heavy dose of vodka, longing and mystery.
