Spring Cleaning

April 12 was the 60th anniversary of human space flight, coinciding with the date in 1961 when Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin first orbited the Earth aboard a Vostok 1 spacecraft.

Above, on April 9 this year, workers cleaned the massive Moscow monument to Gagarin, created by
sculptor Pavel Bondarenko, and which stands on Leninsky Prospekt.

[Due to licensing limitations, we cannot show the photo here. But you an view it on the TASS site, along with several other images of the cleaning.]
