Since the start of the pandemic, Moscow has more than 948,400 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Since the start of 2021, the number of new confirmed cases has been increasing in Moscow by more than 1,400 daily.

Russia, at press time, was fifth in the world in terms of number of total cases, with just under four million. It has seen 77,415 deaths. The Russian government recently announced that it plans to vaccinate some 68 million Russians (60% of the population) by year’s end.
