Yuri Koval

YURI KOVAL (1938-1995) was not merely a talented writer, but also painted and wrote and performed songs. He worked as a teacher in the provinces and wrote his first book, for children, in 1966. Several popular books followed, including The Adventures of Vasya Kurolesov (1971), The Little Silver Fox Napoleon III (1975) and The Lightest Boat in the World (1984). His 1995 novel, Suyer-Vyer, won him, posthumously, the Strannik literary prize.
