Vsevolod Ivanov

VSEVOLOD IVANOV (1895-1963) was notable for creating adventure novels set in Eastern Russia during the Civil War, most notably Armored Train 14-69, largely informed by his own service in the Red Army. His works were criticized for being too pessimistic, but he continued to write, correcting himself. During World War II he was a war correspondent for Izvestia.
