Sergei Stroitelev is a freelance photographer and visual artist based in St. Petersburg. He regularly works with National Geographic Russia, VICE UK, Takie Dela, Bird in Flight magazine, and others. His photography primarily focuses on the exploration of social issues. Via different visual languages and forms he looks at problems surrounding minority identity, gender, health, racial prejudice, ecology, and consumerism. He often executes very personal photographic projects, exploring his own past and family. He has won awards for his photography, including the Istanbul Photo Award 2018 in the category Daily Life Story, and the Debuts 2018 photocontest organized by Doc! Photomagazine.
