Olga Sedakova

Olga Sedakova was born in 1949 in Moscow and graduated from the department of philology at Moscow State University. While Sedakova began to write poetry at a young age, her poetry was not published until 1989, partly due to its deeply religious subject matter. She has published 27 books of verse, translation and scholarly research, and is the recipient of the Andrei Bely Prize and the Solzhenitsyn Prize, among others.
