Nikolai Karamzin

Nikolai Karamzin (1766-1826) was a profilic writer, poet, critic and historian. Best remembered for his 12-volume History of the Russian State, he translated a good number of foreign works, introduced the "yo" to the Russian alphabet, and is considered the founding father of Russian conservatism.
