Akhill Levinton

AKHILL LEVINTON (1913-1971) was a literary critic and translator, a leading specialist in German literature. Arrested in 1949, he was released in 1954 and subsequently exonerated. He is an author of several songs, one of which may be A Glass Full of Pearls, numerous versions and variations of which became part of Soviet folklore.
