Quarantine has us all changing our hairstyles. Even long-dead communist leaders.
The city of Magadan installed anti-bird spikes on the head and shoulders of the local Lenin statue recently, causing quite the uproar. Local Communist Party authorities said that the move was "a violation of the aesthetic, historical appearance of the city."
The internet, of course, had a field day, drawing comparisons to a character from the film "Hellraiser" as well as punk rock hairstyles.
The mayor of the city was quick to remove the spikes, but not before photos had already populated the internet ecosystem. Nice work, interwebs.
