To the Editors: I have been a long-time subscriber of your magazine and fully support your new approach. I have just been reading letters you have printed in your latest edition and cannot understand the position of the two people who have chosen to cancel their subscriptions. While one of them mentions grey areas, they do not elaborate.
I do not think anyone can dispute that Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Russia was not threatened by that country or any other at that time. It was not a defensive move. I wish the letter writers had clarified their position /rationale in order for me to understand why they think the way they do.
When I read reports from BBC and CBC journalists who are on the ground in Ukraine I feel I am getting a truer picture of the situation than what Russian media is reporting from the safety of the studio in Moscow. There are also independent, international organizations working to verify whether war crimes have been committed.
I appreciate the format the magazine is now taking and believe I am reading the truth from those who are living this horror.
Keep up the good work.
To the Editors: I would like to congratulate you on a very informative as well as interesting edition. This is one of your best and I do not understand the genesis of one of the letters included. I have never thought of your publication as being out-of-line or less than objective. Keep up the good work and objectivity.
