Travel Information

Getting there: Lufthansa has twice-weekly flights to Yekaterinburg from Frankfurt, and there are daily flights to the city on Aeroflot and Transaero. Yekaterinburg is a major rail hub, so there is no shortage of rail links to the city. The best connection from Moscow will take you about 30 hours. It is 61⁄2 hours by train from Perm to Yekaterinburg.

Staying there: There are three nice, small hotels in Yekaterinburg, Magister (20 rooms, $150/night, ph. 224-206, fax 225-674), the Ural Hotel (12 rooms, $135/night, ph. 223-391, fax 222-035) and Transhotel ($115, ph. 562-211, fax 564-050). A new, large hotel, the Atrium Palace, has also recently opened ($189, ph. 596-000, fax 596-001). The city code for Yekaterinburg is 3432.
