Accommodations

From May 24th to June 1st, there will be more people wanting to visit the city than ever before, yet only one new hotel has opened in the city in the past few months: the SAS Radisson, located on Nevsky Prospekt. Given this reality and the noted shortcomings in hotel space, many may be forced to seek new accommodation options such as full-service apartments. Even so, you will want to book well in advance. Hotels are already receiving bookings for the end of May 2003 and many expect to be over booked (e.g. having to set aside rooms for visiting dignitaries).

Remember the alternative, visit Saint Petersburg during “White Days,” when the city’s top hotels such as Hotel Astoria, Grand Hotel Europe, Corinthia Nevskij Palace offer exciting winter packages with substantially lower rates.
