Jessica Werneke (Five Photojournalists, page 52) is a Research Fellow at the NRU Higher School of Economics in Moscow, where she has lived since 2016. She received her PhD in Modern European History in 2015, specializing in Russian and Soviet Visual Culture and Photography. She has contributed to numerous academic journals, worked as a freelance consultant for the ZIL Cultural Center in Moscow, and is the author, editor and designer of the Sovetskoe Foto Blog (sovetskoefotoblog.wordpress.com). Her research interests include the history of Soviet photojournalism and amateur photography clubs in Russia and the former Soviet Union.
