Simon Patterson was born in New Zealand, but has been living in St. Petersburg, Russia for more than 15 years. He gained degrees in Russian Literature at Auckland University and Victoria University. Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance translator from Russian into English and from German into English, translating feature and documentary film scripts, articles on modern Russian literature, and literary works.
