The Immortal Regiment was first held in the United States in 2015 in New York City, and has since then spread across the world. In fact, Immortal Regiment activities had 12 million participants in Russia last year. These marches go beyond politics: they show that we will never forget the sacrifices of World War II veterans.
With Fascism on the rise worldwide, the Immortal Regimen has taken on new and urgent meaning, as it honors those who fought and the millions who perished in the fight against fascism, and in the fight for human rights and freedoms. Join the Russian Veterans as they commemorate Victory in Europe Day.
The ceremony marks the defeat of the Nazi forces and remembers the estimated 50 million people who died during WWII. Residents who are veterans of WWII will be honored. City officials and City staff will greet Veterans and their guests. The audience will enjoy a concert dedicated to the 73rd Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
